Boyd Gaming Buys Resorts Digital Online Gambling Operation

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Boyd Interactive has purchased Resorts Digital, the online gambling arm of Atlantic City’s Resorts casino, for an undisclosed amount.

Mark Giannantonio, president of Resorts, said Monday that the transaction was finalized on Sept. 1. Neither company would reveal the purchase price.

Resorts Digital has outperformed the physical Resorts casino for years; it has taken in five times the amount of money from gamblers over the first eight months of this year as the physical casino did.

Over that period, Resorts Digital won over $573 million, compared to $109 million for the physical Resorts casino, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

In terms of profitability, Resorts Digital posted a gross operating profit of $9.6 million in the first half of this year, up 5.6% from the same period a year ago. In contrast, the physical Resorts casino had a gross operating profit of $355,000 in the first half of this year, down almost 89% from a year earlier.

Alabama is Rare Home Underdog to Georgia

The Crimson Tide on Monday were consensus 2-point underdogs to the Bulldogs at sportsbooks, but the line has been shifting toward Alabama.

This marks the first time since 2007, a game against LSU, that Alabama came into a game as a home underdog.

In July, Chris Andrews, a veteran Las Vegas oddsmaker with the South Point, opened Georgia as a 4.5-point favorite over Alabama in his early lines on big college football games. His perception of the two teams has shifted over the first month of the season.

"I know that Georgia's good, really good. But they haven't been great; they haven't been as good as they were last year," Andrews told ESPN, adding that he plans to offer a line shaded toward Alabama compared to competing sportsbooks this week.

The number has been trending Bulldogs -1.5 to -2.5.  Sagarin actually has Alabama at 3.52.  In other words, not only do we have a significant overlay but the wrong team is favored.

CNN Poll: Harris and Trump Locked in Super Tight Race

Among likely voters nationwide, a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS finds 48% support Kamala Harris and 47% Donald Trump, a margin that suggests no clear leader in the race. About 2% say they plan to vote for Libertarian Chase Oliver and 1% for Green Party nominee Jill Stein. Both Harris and Trump hold positive support from the majority of their backers – 72% of Trump’s supporters say their choice is more for him than against Harris, while 60% of Harris’ supporters say their choice is more for her than against him.

That’s a major shift in voters’ attitudes toward the race compared with earlier this summer. In the last national CNN poll in July, shortly after President Joe Biden ended his campaign for president and Harris threw her hat into the ring for the Democratic nomination, Harris’ backers were evenly divided between affirmative support for her and those driven by anti-Trump sentiment. And Biden’s supporters in earlier polls said they were largely expressing opposition to Trump with their choice.

Harris sat at -125 odds Tuesday night while Trump came in at +105

VP Debate Props: Vance vs. Walz

While we don't anticipate viewership numbers anywhere close to the big presidential debate between former president Donald Trump and the current VP Kamala Harris, people will be watching the vice presidential debate between Harris runningmate Tim Walz and Trump runningmate JD Vance.

Early prop bets are being offered on what each candidate says, with both favored to mention "abortion".
